Co-organizing of Tanabatakai (Star Festival) 2014 with Kyoko Kinder Kunst Klas.
This year as a member of Flatto81, I hosted Origami mobile Workshop and Big Milky Way making Workshop using recycled materials.
For Origami mobile, we made original origami by using beet juice and printmaking technique. Cutting lines were printed already on our Origami, so it was easier for children to make the lantern ornament.
For Hishigata (diamond-shaped) ornament, we recycled the drawing made by the children who participated in the Tanabatakai last year. Tanzaku and Fukinagashi was decorated with Chika‘s handmade vegetable ink using vegetables as stamps.
The Big Milky Way was made with recycled cardboards, connected together to form 5m60cm long and max 80cm high milky way. We decorated them with our triangle star stickers made from recycled papers, and Hikoboshi and Orihime met when we build the cardboards into a star shape.(see photos below)

We are very happy to share the beautiful tanabata-kai event with children from different parts of the world in the Netherlands.
アムステルダムにある子どもの造形教室をオーガナイズしているKyoko KInder Kunst Klasさんと、第二回目の七夕会を催しました。私は、Flatto81のメンバーとして、七夕折り紙のモビールと、大きな天の河づくりを担当し、身近にある素材をリサイクルしてつくりました。
モビールで使う、ちょうちんを折る折り紙は、ビーツジュースでつくったインクでゴム版画をし、子供たちが切りやすいように工夫しました。菱形綴りの紙は、去年の七夕会で子どもたちが自由に描いてくれたドローイングを活用して作り、短冊と吹き流しには、Atelier Chika Itoの手づくりインクを野菜でスタンプしてもらいました。
大きな天の河は、段ボールでつくったじゃばら本を夜空に見立てて、子どもたちに三角のシールをはってもらい、5m60cm x 80cmの大きな天の河をつくりました。つくった後は、天の河を星形に組み立て、織り姫と彦星が会える仕組みにしました。
